We have planting plans created as area plans in Revit, how to modify the area tag into a planting quantity tag.

If that is the case the you can use a plant tag and add all the plant within the area as hosts of the tag, then then plant tag can show then quantity of host in revot 2022.  To get that, edit the tag family, edit the label and add multileader count.

@nehasomani

When you tag the area, the count of the plant components is not accessible to that tag. The only way an area tag would be able to do what you are asking is to Extract the count of plants in each designated area and set it to a parameter in each of the areas...you can do that manually or by using dynamo

Otherwise, you will either need

  • to resort to calculated value in the area tag  (Plants/unit area) * Area
  • Or if you are using 2022
    1. Use a tag for the area
    2. Use a second Tag that counts plants (multi-hosts)

Parallax team created an addon for landscaper. One feature they use is plan and use area to drive the planting count. Something you can look at

When the programmer demo it, yes it is using Revit component and add the tree count to the area tag. It is neat add-in.

Parallax  do interesting stuff but I personally prefer Dynamo for such easy routine stuff...why pay for something which take 15 mins to put together...right?
