Pasting.... Where the object initially shows up as being placed?

This has been plaguing me for quite some time.

The wall shown in elevation in cyan has been copy/ pasted from another project. When it comes into the model it is showing up in the correct location. For whatever reason I cannot figure out a way to get it to "stay" in that correct location. Revit wants me to click somewhere (or select a level) and it seems intuitive to me that I should just be able to hit enter (or something similar) and the wall (as example) simply gets placed where it already is. As it stands right now, I need to click to place it (in the wrong place) then reselect it and move it back to where it already was. I have to be missing something but nothing screams at me in the command line. It simply says "click to enter move end point". Not following!

Yes, that's one of those incredibly annoying 'features' of Revit. Posted an idea to solve this in 2016... And I note there are more ideas about the same thing.

Have you tried the Paste menu from the ribbon and "Paste aligned to current view"?

You can also assign a keyboard shortcut for the Paste Aligned to Current View command.

Thanks Simon. The good news is it takes a load off just knowing that I'm actually not missing anything here. Still has me scratching my head though.

Yes I use that from time to time..... but doesn't always accomplish what I need it to. In example above where I'm pasting a wall from one model to another those paste options are greyed back. Thanks for the reminder however!

That is something that should not be considered when using Revit. You need to think outside of the box.
