Need help with linked files in worksets - Dynamo

Hi,

I used the following method to create new worksets based on link file names and it works out perfectly.

But the issue was that - the 2 new linked files got automatically hosted inside the Workset1 (the primary after shared levels & Grids) of the test revit file after the 1st run, I had to go manually to shift the links to its proper workset (to the new created ones).

Is there a way to automate this so that the linked files are placed to their namesake Workset only as created by the script and does not go to the Workset1.

Thanks for any ideas

HI!

You can do it by using a couple of archi-lab nodes.

If my post answers your question, please click the "Accept as Solution" button. This helps everyone find answers more quickly!

Kind regards,
Dmitriy Semko.

Hi,

Thanks for your workout.

The only issue that I am facing is installing the bakery package for the "Get All Revit Links as Element List" node - it is asking to delete a lot of packages.

Is there a work around for this.

Thanks.

You don't even need a Bakery Package node, sorry about that. Replace that with basic Element.Name.

Hi Semko,

I would like to run an idea by you -

Instead of physically selecting linked model elements to start the process, can this linking process start by specifying the link files being picked from a specific folder or path in Dynamo?

"the user selects the files within the folder to be linked and then this whole process starts"

Thanks for your inputs.

You right, selecting isn't the best method, it was just a quick way to show core idea.
I would recommend getting links from existing file. Archi-Lab and Bakery have similar nodes that can be used for this.
