My revit file size is not reducing after purge & Compact

My Overall Model File size is 1.3gb when i am segrigating the model it showing 1.07gb size. after purge and compacting model also file size is increasing. Please help.

Hello @bhudevdas1994. Delete all unused families, annotations and so on. And try saving the file again as a new one with a different name. This helps reduce the weight of the model.

I did the same also. But it coming same File size.

Do you have CAD files inside the project? If you used "Import CAD", then delete them and try to use "Link CAD". If you have families with CAD geometry in your project, then they also make the model heavier.

I have no imported cad in Revit. All Families used in project only 16mb. But file size is not reducing.

How many elements are in your model? Perhaps it will be more correct to divide it into parts?

Hi,

In most cases revit file size increases if there are many families with cad geometry. You need to check them.

Also for optimazing your you can split project by moving some elements to another files by category for example, and link files into one main fproject.

You could also consider/adopt a bim360 workflow...
