Hello,

I'm currently writing my final work and in this context I'm working on Revit. I have a file in IFC format and I bind it Revit. But I do not know how to change it. Is it possible to modify elements of an IFC file? And how?

Thanks for yous hepl, you are my last chance.

You cannot change the geometry of any IFC elements.  You can change phase and other parameter value.

Thank you very much.

But how does one select an item, for example a wall? I do know that select the whole model and not the elements separately.

Thanks for your help.

If you bind it in your Revit file, it should become a group. Edit the group and you can edit individual elements.

If you open the file via the way illustrated below, you can modify the geometry.   There are a few exceptions however.

Hello, I am currently writing my thesis, focusing on BIM and Facility Management. Everything looks nice and surely the bim can be used as a valid tool to manage a building, but I'm having some doubts ..
If the whole project is delivered to the building manager in the ifc file, how can the manager modify, for example, a wall in the project if it is demolished in the building? How can the manager modify the geometry of the project as the real building changes during its life cycle?thanks.
