Modelling Guidance - Generic Model and Profile Families (Beginner)

Hi All,

Would greatly appreciate any available perspective on how to approach modelling a Wall-Hosted Louvre (Generic Model family), as pictured below.

My current awareness only stretches as far as modelling a family profile, defining parameters from a sketch, and creating an array group family from said profile - but not far enough to begin modelling (should these be classed as 3 separate profiles?)

Many Thanks

Three profiles? I only see two ( far left ones are different).

I'd probably model the different individual louvers in their own families. Then nest those within a separate family that arrays them.

hi @K.dickensjulien

The first method is to model it using a Mass.
Please refer to the attached video for the exact steps.

The second method is to use a Generic Model and then create it as a Generic Model Line Based family.

In the two previous videos, I tried to demonstrate the idea quickly. You can, of course, develop this in a fully parametric way.
You could, for example:
Create one element and use an Array in the project,
Or build it as a baluster family and then use it inside a railing,
And there are many other possible methods.
You should choose the approach that best fits your needs, both in terms of how you want to model it and what kind of output and documentation you expect from the project.
