Brace Symbol Location Changes when column height changes

These braced frame brace symbols display as expected in plan (LEVEL 3) with the following View Range settings:

Elevation:

Plan:

But when I raise the column above LEVEL 3 the brace symbol moves to the center of the beam:

Plan:

Can anyone explain the behavior here and possibly provide a solution to get the brace symbol to keep the desired location (stay at the column and point "down" like the symbol on the right)?

From what I can tell, this point right here is driving the display. Once this point goes above the "Associated Level" for a view, the brace symbol is displayed as going "up".

Still hoping for a solution. 😂
