Modeling an irregular archeological wall from point cloud

Hello everybody,

I would like to know if someone of you was confronted to this problem.

I would like to reconstruct a 3D model of a ruin, using point cloud. The problem that when

I select two points I can not move them at the same time.

If someone has a solution could you please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
Maybe revit is not the most suitable app to do this.

Recently I have scanned the Roman Wall at Zaragoza (Spain) but I've not modeled anything, I directly link the point cloud in revit.

If you definitivly need an object other than a pointcloud, then the only alternative that I guess would be a 3d mesh obtained with other software, like recap Pro, Cloudcompare, meshlab, Pointfuse...

But anyway, a 3d mesh could be a very heavy object to operate within revit, much more than a pointcloud.

Hi amorap,

Thank you for your answer...Yes I agree that it's difficult to create an archeological 3D model on revit.

And the mesh software will give a nice visual result. But my idea is to create a 3D model with all the informations (BIM)

to have an estimation of surfaces and volumes for an future operation of restauration.

The result was not the best, but the estimation was good.

I like the work you did, it's very nice!

Regards.

For a 3D mesh object, 3DS Max may be your best option.....
