Missing Detail Components

Several Detail Components are missing from several different wall sections in my model. It is almost as if someone selected all instances in the project and deleted them. However, this is definitely not what happened. Has anyone had any experience with this happening? Is it possible that this is a Revit glitch?

Thanks,

Chris

It sounds one of the following, the file is been corrupted or a visibility is off

Try the following and see if this fixes the issue

As mentioned before reveal unhidden could be used

Try to duplicate the view with details and see if you are able to see them again

Verify if you have the latest Service pack since some issues is been fixed by installing the latest one.

Link to install the service pack

Thanks for the response, unfortunately this was not as simple as revealing the hidden elements. Somehow all Filled Regions and Detail Components were removed from all of our views. They were not hidden or purged from the model. When I would place a new component and "select all instances in the project" the quantity was (1). I would like to think someone in the office made a mistake and accidentally deleted them as opposed to Revit dropping this information from the model, but it would have taken a lot of effort to delete these items.

So, I don’t think there is a true solution to my problem, just was curious if anyone has had something similar happen to them. I save a back-up model every week to limit the damage of events such as this.

Thanks again,

Chris

May be these view were duplicated without the details, Verify if the original are still somewhere in the project browser. If not you need collect all users log file and see who did what.

This just happened to us. Only in one wall section view. About half of the detail componants, all of the line work and all of the regions are gone. It would have been very difficult to have someone manually delete these items from this view.  I am assuming it was a Revit glitch, though we have not had a curruption issue with the file. Just thought I would state that it is not a single event someone had. I have to rebuild the wall section at this point. None of the earlier suggestions recovered the lost items.

It was a strange occurrence, we just had to move on and cut our losses. I now save back-up files weekly just in case it happens again. I would hate to imagine this happening to someone close to a deadline.

Thanks Chris. Yes it is on a deadline for us but thankfully it was only one detail.

Hi all!  This exact thing that Chris described is happening to us as well.  First it was all the filled regions and detail components in the entire project.  Now it has been occurring in the wall sections, where detail components end up missing days later.  Has anybody discovered a solution?  We have 3 users in a work shared environment from the server.  I too have checked all recommended solutions mentioned here.  We are in Revit 2017.

Thank you all - Steve M.
