Mass Error

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Revit. I'm having trouble to place mass floors, it says "mass contains geometry that cannot be combined. Mass Floor, Volume and surface area won't be computed".

I'm not sure what's wrong. Could anyone please help me?

Thanks

Make upper and lower parts as two separate pieces.

The easiest would be to copy entire mass to clip board, paste aligned to the same place, edit one mass deleting lower part, repeat with the other deleting upper part.

Thank you so much for the reply. I'm still not very familiar with the
software, when you said separate the 2 parts, do you mean create the solid
separately? I did that from G up to 2nd floor. And from 2nd floor i created
another solid that goes up to my roof level.

Also how can I combine them into one unit of building if they're separated.

Sorry 😞

Conceptual masses are a means to form the shape of your building. It
doesn't matter how many being used. What matters is, for example, if you
want a facade to be one continuous curtain system then you might want to
create one surface for that facade.

There is something about the location of those two elements that revit doesn’t like and cannot combine them to create floors. I noticed that the corners and some edges do not line up. Is that how it‘s supposed to be? Fixing them, solves the issue.

Also, slightly relocating the object sideways solves the problem as well.

Was having the same issue here in 2022. Cannot believe this actually worked...
