Make a roof with different bases

Hi,

I have a trouble when create a roof with a different based. I want to create a roof as attached footprint, but don't know how to make the higher level as the red circle. Could you please give me a light at the end of this tunnel?

Thanks a lot,

Different Plate Heights? Easiest way to do that would be to model two roofs and join one to the other

Thanks for your comment.

I tried to make different Plate Heights, but it not work.

I also make two different roofs and joint, but it is very tricky at the hip not really the same.

Could you please show me more clearly,

Thanks a lot,

I'll take a run at it if you want to post the file. I do see the challenge though. I don't think it will the Join/Unjoin Roof tool will work, but you can certainly use the Join Geometry tool.  Clean-up will be a little more tedious.

Yep, I crashed and burned. The only way I could get there was by using Join Geometry.  Lots of cleanup to do on the inside, but ain't she pretty from the outside.

@barthbradley :

Thank you so much, that look pretty good. That is what I want to get.

Could you please show me how. I reckon it should be simple, not too complicate. I'm not a smart guy, so just want make things simple :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

It looks like it can be done as one roof. Share the file and we shall see.

Arrgh! I deleted the model.  I'm going to have to recreate it for you.  It'll go faster if you can post your rvt for me to work from.  But NO; it wasn't so simple.  It's a tricky condition.

Here is one roof but the file is 2019.  I no longer have 2017.  You can open it in 2019, inspect the footprint of the roof and apply the same approach to the 2017 working file.

@ToanDN : That is great for me. But one questions, could we do it with overhang

Thanks a lot.

Completely different condition than I imagined.   It can be done nicely with one roof.  I can return a 2018 RVT if you need it.

Nice job, @ToanDN . Pardon the "repackaging". I didn't know you were on the job as well.

@ToanDN : you are the Master!

I did nearly the same but can not achieve as your trick. That is really simple.

But a little bit more challenge, how could we deal with two corners below. Could we extend the lower roofs under the higher roof?

Thanks in advance, 99.99% were solved.

Model them as two small roofs by extrusion and join with the main roof.  Then grip extend the fascia to match.

p/s: where in Vietnam are you from?
