Lock Element in Family 3D view

I need to lock the edges of the panels to the lower support edges like the most front panel, so they can move along with them . Due to the visibility issue, I do the alignment  in 3D view, however, the lock doesn't show up. Is there a way to do this?

Here is the screenshot of my model, I set the workplane for each panel (following your advice) then lock the lower edge of the panel to the support's edge without adding extra reference plane/line. What do you think of this approach?
