Location guide view tool

I have a project that, due to scale, does not fit into a single sheet. I'm using dependency views to split view in two.

Is there any revit tool to create a "plan view" (or similar) to use on sheet as a drawing location guide?
As an example image.

I don't see any attachment but I think you are looking for Matchline.

Yes, Matchline and View Reference located on Sheet Composition Panel on View Tab.

Congratulations on earning the rank of an Explorer in the Autodesk Community!

Here in information regarding matchlines, how to edit them and how to create dependent views.

Adding a Matchline: 

1. Select your large building plan that you want to split into two separate zones.
2. Place your MATCH-LINE as shown by @ToanDN in his post.
3. On selecting the Matchline tool, Revit immediately enters the all-too familiar "Sketch Mode" (Matchlines are sketch lines that you can add to a view to indicate where a view is split)
4. Matchline is depicted as a thick blue dashed line. You can alter the way this is drawn either by "Object Styles" (which sets the visual parameters for all Matchlines) or by the use of "Graphic Overrides" to control Matchline appearance on a view-by-view basis.Select the matchlines that you need to change to a different look. Right click > Override graphics in view > By element > change the line pattern 
5. Set up the crop region for this first plan.
6. Create a dependent view of this first plan and set the crop region for the second half. (Make sure the crops overlap).
7. Now that we have our Matchlines in place, we can simply place our Dependent Views onto separate sheets.
8. Add a view reference at the match line to point to each sheet.
9. You could also hide parts of the view to focus on one area,when placing a view on a sheet.

If "this" is Match Line then Yes.  No needs for any other way around it.

How can I find area plans if they are not showing up in my dropdown menu under view reference?

Wow you are right.  Area Plan views don;t show up in the View reference list at all.  Sorry for the wrong answer.

Edit: wait a minute.  See a screencast in a few minutes, strange thing happens.
