I have seen a similar issue on this forum and it was related to an Add-in.  Try turning them all off restarting and adding one-by-one to see if you can identify an issue

Manage Tab > Extensions Panel > Add-in Manager

Are the families stored on your PC locally?

On the left hand side in the Folder Pane you have some default folders of Family Libraries (Imperial Lib...) can you open these or does the same thing happen

If you can open these I would assume the issue is not being able to access or have permissions to the folder in the Location you are clicking on in the video.

The folder on the Left Hand Pane is a default library on your PC which if you right Click > Edit Places Shows exactly where it is stored

If you can open these folders and insert a Family with no issues I would suggest you have access issues with your Document Folder on your PC as the issue is it is trying to find a Family in a Folder/Location it cannot access hance the Blue Circle.

Can you open any other software and insert something from this folder environment?

@laurensV9CRL

  1. When you istalled Revit 2025 did you also install the Updates?
  2. How much free space do you have left on the local drive where you installed Revit 2025? Clean the %TEMP% folder first then check available space left
  3. If you are low on disc space, run windows cleanup and remove the cashed installation files

Might or might not be the case but windows released 2 security patchs in december the first on the 10th and the second on the 22nd. The first caused unstable and unpredictable behavior in certain applications including revit, the send patch fixed it. So you might also want to check updates on both Revit and Windows

I do not think this is related to Revit directly as per the original post on inserting something in Revit and would get I.T. to have a look at your PC and ensure ALL Windows AND Revit updates are installed!
