Loading graphics for ALL 3D views upon loading

Hi,

I've worked with Revit for a long time, and have only noticed this recently (Revit 2019.2).

When opening any of our projects (new local), Revit seems to be going through a process of generating graphics for literally every 3D view. Why is this? How can I stop it?

Our opening view is set to a drafting view of model info etc... So I don't understand why it's processing anything to do with 3D views upon opening.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

I suggest to overcome this by setting Start page to a simple 

Sheet with Info. Then , when first opening that will happen rather quick

Hi Rob,

It's not actually a viewport graphics issue, so I don't think that will help with this.

Revit should only be loading up a basic 2D drafting view, but as the model is opening I can see that it is 'Generating graphics for...' every 3D view in the project (taking ages), then it just opens the drafting view as expected.

The description says nothing about viewports. Where are you getting that from?

Thinking something won't help, is a far cry from actuality. The description seems to describe your situation. It's a simple thing to check. I see too many people saying such things only to try it later and have it work. Why not just give it a shot if it's not already checked? It's not like you're getting a ton of suggestions to go through.

Do your file have workset? I would recommend just close all workset and proceed with opening the model. Then you open up the workset you are working on. Also how many errors does your file have? The more errors you have, the more Revit takes time to refresh the model.

Here are few suggestion to speed up the model

- Check as well if you have a lot of CAD/Rhino/Sketchup import. Remove them or place it in another Revit file

- Remove unused views like 3d, sections, elevations and plans

- Purge and Audit the file on regular basis

Hi,

Any Addins loaded that could cause this?

On my workstation (only) Revit 2019 Enscape's addin (suddenly) caused a regeneration of all 3D views when saving/syncing, or at least when I disabled the Addin from loading it stopped.

Maybe the Journals could hint to the issue causing it?

This is potentially the issue - We've all got Enscape add-ins... 

This could explain why it's looking at all of the 3D views. I'll experiment with this later!

(I'll upload a couple of journals if I find anything interesting)

For us, this was a problem with the 'Enscape' software addin. I've disabled it from loading on my machine, and this is no longer a problem.
