Linking IFC file 4.3 from Civil 3D issue

Hi all,

We've been troubleshooting this issue and are pretty much out of ideas onto tackling this problem down.

We're using the IFC 4x3 exporting too in Civil 3D; we managed to link it inside our Revit model

We're close to a correct positionning but there's always a shift even if we use the same coordination as the basepoint of the project in to IFC 4x3 Tool :

Oh and when we export the RVT file in CAD to attache it in C3D as a XREF; it gets inserted at the correct position !
So everything is supose to be ligned up.

Thanx in advance for those who will help out

Hello

Well i've investigated a bit on the subject, and changed the configuration to show the internal origin point in Revit

And i noticed that Revit imports the IFC with the base point in civil 3d at the origin point in revit.

Anyone konws if we can change the assignment on that ?

We couldnt change how Revit links or inserts the IFC to the correct origin point so we've manage to make things work

The key is to replace the coordinates in the IFCCARTESIANPOINT with the delta from the base project point and the original point in the revit project.

Then the IFC get's inserted correctly

We've even managed a little Dynamo script to automate so

Hope this guides any users further down the road
