Revit 2025 Crashes When Editing a Sweep in a Model-In-Place Component.

I'm working on a model that features model-in-place sweeps for wall bases, and am trying to edit the sweeps to switch out the profile for something nicer than rubber base. However, when I click "Select Profile," Revit crashes. I've reproduced this result three different times, even with a different sweep. I thought perhaps because this model was upgraded from 2021 to 2025, the sweeps from the old version aren't treated the same in Revit 2025, but I reproduced Revit crashing with a new test sweep just to see. I don't know why it can handle editing the sketch path for the sweep, but not editing the profile. Any help would be appreciated!

Any error messages appear?

Doesn't look like it. Just loads for a little while, then closes, and sends me the error report pop-up.

Never upgrade directly from a version older than a year to the latest one. If your sweep was created in Revit 2021, upgrade the model sequentially through 2022, 2023, and so on, until you reach the desired version.

Instead of editing the existing sweep, try deleting it and creating a new one from scratch to see if the issue persists.

I did already try deleting the sweep and redoing it. Same issue unfortunately. Now I've discovered it applies to multiple files too, not just this one. So it does appear to be a bug in Revit rather than an issue with my specific file.

This isn't a solution but a workaround:
I've tested on other computers in my office - the crash is triggered specifically by the "Select Sweep Profile" button if you have a loaded profile you can swap it out with the dropdown bar - if it is a sketched profile you'll unfortunately have to build from scratch each time.

Autodesk contacted me for my file so hopefully a bug fix is coming. Hope this tides you through until then.

I tried to do that too as a workaround, but it shows nothing in the bar or dropdown even though I have profiles loaded in plus the defaults. 😔
