Line based detail component bug R20

I've tried altering a detail component we have in R20. I added an additional dimension constraint to the start end ref planes, this way multiple of these can be selected in plan and have the lengths changed instead of needing to go 1 by 1.

I've tried searching through the forums, youtube, twitter, no luck.

It does work, however the issue I'm having is that when you update the instance parameter, it appears the drag end doesn't move with it. Also if you nudge the detail component it reverts to it's previous length...

I've tried; aligning and locking the components ends to the ref planes which doesn't seem to change anything, creating a 2nd dimension to the ends of the line with the Bar Length constraint, lock/unlocked in the Family Types window. No matter what, it retain the dot where it was previously if you change the bar length instance.

Family flexes correctly here. You don't mean that you are changing the Temporary Dimension value that shows for the Line; do you?

When drawing it, the end bubble's show correctly, but if you change the instance Bar Length, those bubbles stay in the same position, but the length does change correctly. However, as soon as you nudge the component it snaps back to it's previous length at the bubble ends.

Imagine having about 50 of these laid out at columns just awaiting design from the engineer, being able to change multiple of these at once is great, but often enough they do need to be nudged or moved depending on the structural design (mainly PT).

Also, I'd like to be able to change the temporary dimension when it's already drawn on plan.

Is this one of those it's one or the other?

Previously the Bar Length dim wasn't in there and we have to click each one to change it's length and can be quite time consuming.

Are you testing the family on a plan or in the family editior?

Line based detail families always behave like you described.  Do you have a family in an older version that works the way you think it should?

I do not have an older version. I was trying to update a family that we had for better use but it seems like it might be limited to it's capabilites.
