hello,

I made a joined geometry which slice well in family, but after nest in project, it is not slice anymore,

I had tried "share/not shared", "cut when loaded" etc but also not sliced in project,

Please advice, thanks

Hello,

So far that I have tried Revit does not allow you to cut your generic model family with a void family.
What does work is loading in the family without void into your project.
Than load the void family into your project.
Than cut the family with the void family.

Note that for this to work the following box should be ticked in your void family: "Cut with Voids When Loaded"

In the project...

  1. Use Join Geometry
  2. Tab select the Cut Object then Tab select the nested extrusion to be cut
  3. Repeat for the other end
  4. Go to Visibility graphics and switch off the Cut Element subcategory

Yeahhhhh...that same trick you keep forgetting 🙂

Usually when I use that approach in families, I use Dynamo to cut all at once in the project
