is there a way to "explode" a wall, in order to stretch certain layers? divide p

Does Revit allow you to explode a wall so that layers all become detached? example, model gypsum stud wall, explode, then delete or stretch gypsum from one side? I know of the way to do this in edit type, base extensions etc, but was wondering if there is a type of explode tool for this? Divide parts? 

Also, does Revit Lt have divide parts?

This is what "Create Parts" is used for. After selecting a wall, use the button on your Modify tab:

Be sure "Show Parts" is selected in your view's Properties in any view in which you want to see a wall as parts rather than an integrated wall (after you have selected a wall and clicked Create Parts).

if you are only stretching one layer edit the wall type and unlock that layer. i don't believe using the parts tool will not allow you to "Stretch" a wall layer, only divide it.

thanks, just happen to have a similar situation over the weekend that i made the screencast for. Actually for that one i ended up suggesting a Create Parts as a solution. it all depends on the situation....

Bummer! I see that now on the list I posted to you in another of your posts. Do you not have the Edit Wall Assembly option either? That isn't specified in that PDF list.

Do you mean the standard "edit type"  option?

If not...where is Edit Wall Assembly?

Click into that Edit Type menu. The first row should be called Structure. Then click the Edit... button.

Well the easiest way to do that would be- 

1. Select the wall.

2. Create Parts.

3. Switch to 3d view and select each part and use displace elements.

4. Repeat the same process for each element.
