Is it possible to add decal inside a family?

when i click on add>image revit gives me a disapointing message: "The imported image will not be visible in projects. To improve performance, delete the image before saving the family".

Thanks @constantin.stroescu did you skip the nested "plates" like i advised to do, and assigned materials right to the sign itself?

I did...I felt it can be done without it...

this is a solution that uses a nested plate family ...it is ,more stable anyway...

Thank you Constantin, I'm going to try and work it out on Monday.

What are the pros and cons of every method? the nested family method family is more stable? what does it mean?

Thank to @constantin.stroescu  it worked!

I think it works well! I'll keep QA-ing it tomorrow with more types but for now it seems ok!

Some notes:

1. i used the "plates" way because signs has to different sides with two different JPEGs.

2. Ive found out that every plate should has it's own position offset settings, there is no one global position setting that work for all

3. before i used this material trick, i associated every family with "image type" parameter. this gave me the ability to show a image thumbnail for each item on schedules.

is there any way to present a thumbnail of these materials on schedule? or i have to define every sign with the JPEG in 2 places (material, and image type parameter) ?
