Help with Massing- can't copy vertically, also can't see color

Hey there. attaching the small revit file. doing some site planning- can't copy the box's vertically in elevation view or 3d. Not really sure why it is being stuck, no locked into anything intentionally.

Also I changed the object color to a new object that is green. The solid color is not applying.

...are you talking about the Groups? Change the Model Group's "Reference Level".  Or, Clipboard Cut/Paste to Level.

copying and pasting into a new level floor plan was the way to go. I was sort of approaching this as one would in sketchup. thanks.

Second question is why isn't color showing up? I changed the material in object style, and have tried 'consistant color' and other such viewing measures, and made sure in Visibility and Graphics that Mass is checked on.

Color of what?  I don't see anything to "color" -- except line work.

oh I get it. I thought I made the massings solids. you must be implying I didn't make them solid forms yet

No, that is not what I meant.  Assign a opaque Material to the Mass Forms.  Also, turn off your Graphic overrides in 3D. You have a Transparency assigned to the Mass Category.

...since they are all "By Category" just change the Material assigned to the Mass:Form Category in Object Styles.

Excellent. Last question. When I select all massing, go to level 2 plan view, and copy paste to 'selected level: level 2', all box's duplicate up one level except the corner building. It was originally grouped together. I broke that apart and they still will not copy up a level. I have checked the settings of the massing blocks and they appear the same to me. Why would some blocks randomly not copy in the same paste as the other blocks?

Revit is letting me change the elevation to 11' and repaste to level one. this creates two levels. but why do they not operate like the others? I may just copy the others over, but I would rather know why there is a non-uniform property that I can not locate.

I don't understand. What exactly did you do and what was the result? Also post the revised file so I can follow along and see.

@samuelzergling: is the issue you are having related to the Model Group?  Something is serious wrong with it. It is behaving very strangely. Did you, by chance, Mirror a Group or Group mirrored elements? Anyways, my suggestion would be to rebuild it -- from scratch.   I mean replace the Forms as well -- or at least Mirror the Forms before Grouping anew.  That seemed successful as well, but I don't know why.  Because of that, I'd replace them.  Your call.
