IFC link in Revit

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a model using BIM 360 Team and I need to link an IFC file to my revit model but the button is grey (image below).

Thank you for your help.

For those of us uneducated on BIM 360, what is the difference between linking an IFC model in Revit and linking an IFC model in BIM 360?

Message 3 of 4

Hello,

Are you collaborating on this project using BIM 360 Design and Revit 2019.1 or Revit 2019.2 ?

If that’s the case, you should be able to link an IFC file using the Desktop connector as explained in this video

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/video/youtube/watch-v-cyWQ8...

If you are using Collaboration for REVIT (C4R), the issue you describe seems similar to this one:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-cloud-worksharing-forum/c4r-how-to-link-ifc/td-p/5789172

Could you test the suggested solutions and workarounds.

Does it help ?

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I'm using Revit 2017 and I think that's why I couldn't link an IFC to my Revit model. I found the solution in the first link of your message. I just linked the IFC to an empty Revit Model and Paste it in it and then linked it to my original model.

Thank you again.

Best Regards.
