Hello everyone!

I make a family for a part. When it's loaded into project. It's up to the quantity of that family its color be changed to another color when export to IFC.

it's red when only 1 family is added.

The first one changed to green when 3 families are added.

in the IFC data, the part color is different . Each time out put to IFC the order of color changing is not same.

And this original color in Revit

Hi @bh-khanh

To have everything in green all family elements should have Steel part material or in red - Steel bolt.

Hi @Rafal.Gaweda

I think if one color per family is exported, we cannot nest a family into family with special part with color.

Now I am reading this

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/how-can-i-assign-multiple-color-to-a-family-...

I will try it.

Thank you verye much!

Create the bolt as a different family, set it to shared and nest it in your main family.

Hello Mr. @ToanDN

If only 1 object is exported there is no problem. Could you check with 10 times of that family?

Thank you very much!

@bh-khanh

It is neither the family not how it was modeled....See GIF capture of trial export and Link IFC to different project using your family

  1. The family is fine as it is and no need for shared nested bolts to have different color ID.
  2. The family exports fine to IFC with Green Plates and red bolts based on the assigned material to each extrusion

The issue is either you exporter version OR your IFC viewer

Hi @RDAOU @ToanDN @Rafal.Gaweda

Thank you very much for taking  your time on this post.

That's exactly answer by @RDAOU "The issue is either you exporter version OR your IFC viewer". I changed IFC viewer from Solibri to OpenIFCViewer it's solved. So I think the problem is from Solibri IFC viewer.

Thank you very much for all your support!

Hope many people can se this post to save their time.
