Identical duplicate wings.

If you have a project that has two wings that are rotated 90º from each other and are identical in all aspects how do you create the duplicate modeling without rebuilding everything?  I have the first wing done but do not see a way to create its rotated twin and keep them the same?  I tried making a model group but that option was not available.

Model the wing as a separate project then link it in twice to the main project.

Will that let you schedule quantities for both wings and create and tag details in the main project file?

You should be able to tag elements in the linked project as normal

For scheduling you just need to make sure that the highlighted button in the attached image is ticked.

I'm with @Anonymous on this. Just mirroring may give you some nasty surprises And Groups have been known to bloat the model.

Thanks Alex.  I use Assemblies and Assembly drawings a lot in my workflow. 

If I have geometry in the base model that is linked into the project model with the "include elements in links" box checked, can I create assemblies of that linked geometry or do I need to go to the linked model to do my assemblies and assembly drawings?

Alex.  When I check the "include elements in links", it included the elements from all linked models.  Is there a way to only include elements from one link out of a bunch?

I have never actually had to do this myself, but you should be able to add a column field called "RVT link: file name" to the schedule, then filter it by that, then hide that column.

Thanks for the response Alex.  Can you add a few more of the steps prior to the screen shot please.  I cannot figure out how to get to the screen you are showing.

Open the schedule you want to change, then click "Insert" in the ribbon.

In the dialogue box, tick "Include elements in links"

Then select the "select available fields from" dropdown at the top of the dialogue box and click "RVT links".

Add "RVT link: file name" to the schedule.

Close the dialogue box and go to "filter" in the properties window.

set the filter to "RVT link: file name" "equals" "project file name you wish to schedule here"

Now click on the "RVT link: file name" column in the schedule and click "Hide".

*EDIT* just tested myself and it works. Note that items in the schedule from the host file don't show anything in the "RVT link : file name" field.
