How to recover unsaved file in Revit?

is there any way a file that was not saved when the "do you want to save '' icon pop up, can b retreated?

I mistakenly press "no"

See if you have a "shadow copy" saved on your PC and/or server.

Find the current .rvt file in the windows folder, right-click, go to Properties, Previous Versions, and see if there are any there.

If so, you can restore the latest version from there.

It is a function of Windows Server that allows X amount of backup saves of a file.  Go to the network location of your file, right click and select Properties. Look under the "Previous Versions" tab.  If there are files there you have shadow copy turned on, nothing, it's not.

Else you have to recover a previous version through the Restore Backup (if a central model) by selecting the central model in the network location or find a file with .000XX after your file name.

Oh....it was never saved?  You are out of luck.

That's like getting the phone number to the girl/guy of your dreams written on your car and you wash it before writing it down in ink.

I LOVE how Autodesk marks these things as SOLVED!
