How to Move a View in the Browser

Help!

Probably very simple but I haven't been able to find the solution - how do you move a view in the project browser? I created a new level, created a new view, but the new view created its own category with question marks (???) - I want to move it to an existing category (i.e. Floor Plans)...Thanks!!

Perhaps the views are grouped based on an user created parameters. Go to
Manage / User Interface / Browser Organizations, switch to Views tab and
see how they are grouped. For example, if they are grouped by Folder, all
Views have the same value entered for the Folder field will be in one
group, Views without any value entered for the field will be in ??? Group.

P/S: I don't have Revit now so the terms may be off. Hope you can make
some sense out of it.

Three things -

1) Changing the view template assigned to view will move it to a different category

2) Switching categories when you are in the View Template

3) Or you can change the discipline in the View Properties.

Finally, this is what Toan was talking about - 13.png

I second @ToanDN first When you see a ???? In the project browser it implies that the views and/or both with the views are sorted by a user created parameter which has not been yet defined.

open that floor plan and look for that parameter on the properties palette...should have a drop down menu for u to select from categories already there or u can input a new if needed

In Revit 2023 I could not find a "sub discipline" line in the view template but I was able to select the view and "edit type" to move the view where I wanted it. Not sure if that changed since 2017 or if it is how we have it set up but thought this might help someone.

Another option. Customize the Browser Organization by adding a custom parameter associated with Views. Then you can move the required Views to that parameter.
