How to make Walls different materials

Whenever I change a wall material, it changes all the walls placed. Is there a way how I can change one wall to be a different material?

Duplicate the Material >>> Rename it >>> Go to Appearance tab >>> Duplicate the asset >>> rename as needed and change appearance image/color/bump...etc as necessary

So i tried this today, and it still changes every wall in my design instead of just one wall.

Material is a type parameter...if all the walls are the same type => they will all change material

When you need walls of different material you have 3 options:

  1. Duplicate an existing type to create a new one >> Set new material as shown in previous reply
  2. Use the Paint tool and paint a new material to the related face of the wall
  3. Convert wall to parts and uncheck the option Material by Original

Option 1 is most probably what you are looking for

You cannot ...they are hard coded as type parameters in the Wall system family

You need to create a new wall type (like: Brick Gray / Brick Red  / Brick White...etc) and give it a new material or use paint tool
