How to change material in stairs

I created two different stairtype (one with and the other without landing)  monolitic in my project. It seems like I oversaw something, because when I change the material of one stairtype, the changes or executed on the second stairtype also???

Can anybody explain what I am missing????

...Notice Stair Run is a TYPE under the Family.  You want to Duplicate Type and then change Material of Duplicate.

You need to create different Run types and give them different materials.

No apology necessary.  Thanks for the lil' green check mark.  It adds to my total and I think it qualifies me for a toaster now. Smiley Wink
