How do i create a viewport family with two scales like the photo below?

At the moment i just have the title with the text below, it is not related to the scale. But sometimes I forget to change the title. It would be nice to have a family that changes it own scale.

Only one scale can be set to change according to the view scale. The other "fake" one would require user input of some sort.

Huh?  Do you mean that one of the scales would display the actual View Scale and the other would display a different View Scale? If so, maybe no scale would be better. That would be my advice.

i want it to be able to change per view but show two scales at the same time.

A1 scale and A3 scale.

A1 and A3 are Sheet Sizes - not View Scales.  If you want to put the same View onto two differently-sized Sheets, Duplicate the View. You can change the View Scale of the Duplicate if you want.  The stock View Title Family will indicate the View Scale on the Sheet.  You don't need to to add to or customize the stock View Title at all.

Instead of showing a half scale value for A3, say "scale shown above shall be 50% for A3 reduced print" and let them do the math.  In fact, just put that claim on the title block family instead of each view title.

This absolutely does NOT help, and you are failing to understand the question. This has been a requested feature going back to 2012 and AUTODESK has still has not listened to our requests. Our drawings are produced and PDF'd at A1. Contractors often print these PDF A1 drawings at A3 to save printing costs, of which when printed at A3 (and scaled by 50% to fit) the title block needs the displayed value halved. Scales are only relevant to the paper they are printed on, and in this case, printed on both A1 & A3 paper, creating the need for 1:50 @a1, 1:100@A3 on the same drawing/plan.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he did understand. The reason why this request has not been implemented is because it simply doesn't make sense. Printing to different sheet sizes is the reason for including statements like "Do not use measurements taken from this print." It is not a reason to include multiple scales. If the field needs smaller paper, make smaller sheets TO A SCALE.

This also isn't a solution because he explained how things are done in the real world, which is not always ideal.

But adding another option or some custom parameter to view title family, because of OPs specific need, also doesn't make much sense (never needed or seen that in my life where I live).

If I were OP I would just add a piece of plain text to title block family that would always print on every sheet. 1:50 @A1, 1:100 @A3.

We have same problem, too.

And I use a lazy way.

Always put an A1 size sheet, and writing

"

A1: 1:100

A3: 1:100x2

"

on the title. The "1:100" is true scale of view port.

(that is not a correct math represent, but we don't care much.)

Not everyone lives in your world. I know of several places that have this option available when needed. So, yes, it is a solution to those who see a value in having small size sheets available to scale. Even with the ability to do it, they also include a statement to not scale from sheets on ALL sizes.

For this very purpose, they invented the graphical scale bar centuries ago.

In the real world, there are industry standards, and what you and that idea are asking for is not one of them. While such standards might vary from one country to another, they do not differ much in essence.

  • Any person who had more than one encounter in the construction Industry should very well know that scaling a printout via the print/export dialog, as noted by several discussion participants, does not always guarantee proper scaling of the viewport or its contents.
  • For contractual clarity and to avoid any potential liabilities or misinterpretations of the information conveyed in the construction documents, all drawings must be read/printed in the issued scale and format. Any errors resulting from rescaling, reformatting, or subsequent misinterpretation shall be solely at the Contractor’s risk and not that of the issuer.
  • Any qualified and reputable architect/consultant who knows how to preserve their Client's rights would even label all construction documents/drawings with a note stating that "Scaling and reformatting are strictly prohibited"

So you agree with exactly what I said? That what works for you obviously doesn't work for OP. And just repeated what I said?

Are we stuck in a time loop?

Is this a white hole?

Hardly. It seems like you are here to insult and argue.

It seems the one thing we can agree with, is things are done differently depending on where you live in the world, the project size as well as the firm size. Knowing that a number of people have expressed an interest to be able to print and either A1 or A3 with a a title block that displays both scales simultaneously side by side at the respective page size - can Autodesk please provide the functionality to create a calculated parameter in families that enable view scales to be halved?

You can ask over in the Ideas forum.

The idea has already been presented there https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/titleblock-half-scale/idi-p/7024951 (almost 8 years ago).
