stairs x lading railing connection

Hi there,

I'm new to Revit and am having trouble with the railing connections.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this connection? See the image attached.

What is the best way to create the junction between the stairs and the landing? 

I can see the option to edit joins, but the stairs and the landing are separate elements and families because they have different heights (Assuming that is the best way to do it), and I can't select both at the same time.

The 'first' flat section is part of the staircase railing I just customed the hight to match the landing but then it created a bigger problem.

I hope that is a better way of doing this.

I appreciate any ideas.

If what you are trying to do is similar to the above screenshot, you would need to model the highlighted part as an end Baluster to either rails

else by editing just the top rail it would look like the below
