How do I extend a custom-made road marking line?

I came up drawing  a custom-made road marking line, to be exact it is identical to the taxiway centre line of an airport. Now as I load it into my project, I find that the dimension of the  line is fixed and I can't extend it to suit the need of the environment. What I can do is manually repeating many short lines to form a long line.

Linebased family?  Also make sure your dimension for it is an instance parameter and not type.

Line-Based Family "Length" Parameter is an Instance Parameter.  Cannot be changed either.  But, I'm with you, @Anonymous: OP needs only make "Length" in his Family an Instance Parameter.
