How can I display windows and fixtures above the cut plane?

I have some windows and plumbing fixtures (shower heads) that I'd like to be visible in plan but since they are located above the cut-plane they're not.

I found this solution in an older thread that seems perfect but these options don't exist in the objects I need to adjust.

Can I add that function to existing families?

What about showing them via a View Underlay (e.g. Looking Up)?

For windows: create plan regions to alter the view range at the high windows

For fixtures: there are several ways.

- nest shared generic models components in the fixture family

- use invisible vertical model line so that the family is cut by the view range's cut plane

- model the fixture family at the desired height and use detail components / symbolic lines placed at the level in teh family for plan presentation
