How can I change the template file of a family?

I have noticed that the template file of a family is not correct, so I need to change because the family has all the data of the object. Can I changed it once the family is done? Thank you.

Yes, look for the Family Category and Parameter and change the Category.

There are some families that you can't change.  Most you can change with Family Category and Parameters.

But the wrong template is metric generic model, and the right is metric generic model based on plane. I cannot change by that way.

Check Work plane based and Uncheck Always Vertical.

I have tried, but when I insert the family in a project, do not rotate in plant.

try inseting your newly altered family into a blank project. especially where parameters are concerned, Revit always seems to 'remember' what they once were and where they were stashed. you may have to remove all evidence in your project of said family - also removing unused stuff before inserting the new version might be an idea.

best wishes,

michael

What do you mean? Are you saying it doesn't ROTATE in the Project?

Post the family so we can examine it.
