Shadows show differently in a 3D view and in a Plan view

Dear Revit Experts and devoted Revit users,

Simple question, why doesn't shadows through a window appear in a floor plan view but a3D view??

1.PNG2.PNGThe last image is when I put the camera unchecking "perspective".

Very close to what I want to but still it looks weird.

The entire building appeared in the 3D view...

I would appreciate it if you could share your insight about this issue.

Thanks!

Make sure that your sun settings are the same for each view.  Base these on an actual time and date.

Try the graphics setting - lighting and set the shadows level at the floor level.

That's the way it is in Revit, but you are using the correct workflow to get sunlight/shadow casts through windows. 3D Section Boxed View. If you want to orient the 3D View to your Floor Plan View, use "Orient to View".  This will automatically create a Section Box.  Should work with both Ortho and Perspective.  If not, delete View and recreate.
