Hinging a reference line to make a door open.

I want my reference line to be attached at the red spot.....but i cant seem to get that to work..it keeps moving away when i change the swing angle...

ive used tab to try to attach it but i cant...is there any other way to do it

Lock the endpoint of a reference line to reference planes. I'm uploading a screencast and I ll show in a moment...

ive tried it...it works sometimes and doesnt other times...frustrating...i have to keep clicking a lot to get it to work..

Make sure to have two reference planes intersect at the point where you want the reference line to hinge.

Hover over the end of the reference line. Keep hitting Tab until a dot highlights at the end. You will need to lock this point to both reference planes, one at a time.

Alternatively - draw a new reference line from the intersection of the reference planes. You will be prompted to lock. Make sure that it's locked to both reference planes.

Notice that there are two points on top of each other, so I had to be careful about which one I'm aligning. One belongs to the geometry of the wall, while the other one is the endpoint of the reference line.
