Hiding the Void cutout of Face-based Nested family

Hi, I am creating a Kitchen Bench with 2 types, with a sink & without a sink. I have added a face-based sink family to the bench with Void in it to cut through the bench. I have linked the void cut geometry with that of the visibility of the sink. With Sink family is perfect but without the sink type hiding the sink but shows the cutout through the bench. If I am adding a parameter to change the height of Void so that it will not pass through the bench then It is showing an error. Can you guys help me in sorting the issue?

Thanks

Hard to understand. Sounds like you have a Void cut in a Family that you would like to control the visibility of.  The Void's "Cut Geometry" Parameter is what controls whether or not it is cutting.  Unchecked = Void is unattached and not cutting. Checked = Void is cutting.

Hi Barth,

Thanks for your response. I think I am working the way you are suggesting but it's not working. Maybe because it is a face-based sink family that's why it is not working.

Post the Family here.

What a minute! Is the Void in a Nested Family?  Cuts Geometry won't work if so.  Put the Void in the Parent Family.

Did you see my revised post above? It won't work as a nested Void. Put the Void in the Parent Family.  You can still make it totally parametric.

It's not working for me. Do you think I need to make the sink family without any host?

Definitely MODEL the Sink with SOLIDS. Don't shape the sink out of the Family Host Element with void cuts the way you are.

Then put the Voids Cuts for the sink openings in the Bench Family (your Parent Family).
