help with connecting stairs

Hi, im new to revit, im still trying to work my way around the programme. I am trying to connect my stairs to each level but for some reason it is not connecting. when I go to select the levels I want to be connected, for some reason the first floor is highlighted in grey and I need my stairs to connect from levels 0-2. Is there any way someone can help me out? im not sure it it is because the ceiling to floor height or if im doing something wrong? thank you!

You are describing multistory stairs.  The way it works is you create a stair from level 0 to level 1, then use multistory stair tool to select level 2 and it will create a stair from level 1 to level 2 for you.

I've included screenshots. I hope this helps? the levels are all grey now, im not sure because of the type of stairs I'm including, but even when I include my own design from the stairs section, the same thing happens

Read the link I posted to understand what Connecting Levels function even means so you can determine if it is really the tool you want to use.

I tried to replicate your issue and don't see any issues using multi-storey stair. Did you convert any of the stair component to sketch mode? Please upload the file so we can look at what you did wrong.
