Help adding parameters to Generic Annotations

Hi all-

I'm trying to create a type of Generic Annotation with a Global Parameter for Visibility (yes/no) - basically a redline text type that can be turned off and on with a switch through the whole project.
It doesn't seem like I can add parameters to Types of GA's, is there a way to do it, or to create a new annotation family that is just editable text, etc?

Sorry if this is hard to understand.

Almost sounds like a Rule-Based Filter would be better.

Add a Yes/No visibility type parameter and associate it with the red text or label.  Load the generic annotation family in the project, edit type and associate the Visibility parameter with a Global parameter.  Now, you can open the global parameter and tick/untick a box to turn on/off the red text/label.

p/s:  If you only have one family then the global parameter step may be overkill.  It only benefits if you have more than one families and want to control them all with one switch.

Even if you could turn the Anno’s visibility off globally, would you want to? I’m thinking it through and seeing that this could be problematic in a number of ways.

I think a better approach would be to control their Visibility by View via Temporary Hide/Isolate or Filter -- not by a Global Parameter or a Family Type Parameter.

Temporary Hide/Isolate Method: Easy enough to use. Select one in the View, right-click and pick Select All Instance=>Visible in View.  Then hide them all at once via Temporary Hide/Isolate button.

Filter Method: Also easy enough to use. Select one in the View, right-click and pick Select All Instance=>In Entire Project.  Then Save them (or Add new instances) to a named Selection Set.  This Selection Set Filter can then be added to your Views whereby you can just toggle the Selection Set visibility on or off.

FWIW.
