Guardrail incomplete

I have a guardrail that doesn't show complete on the elevation or plan.  It is drawn full width on the planview but as you can see on the attached elevation view the toprail and endpost are there but internal parts cut off.  

There is nothing hidden in the view that would block it and I can find no properties that change the view.  

If I shorten it to the half with internal parts they all disappear like the right half.

Open the Baluster Placement Dialog Box and add an Excess Length Fill, such as Truncate Pattern. 

...also, regarding it disappearing when you shorten the length: this is because the Main Pattern is too long (e.g. too many lines).
