Frozen screen after hitting Enter key

When I open up Revit and try to hit enter on a commend the entire screen locks/freezes/ gets stuck and won't let me click or save or do anything with itI imported a project made on revit 2018 and it upgraded to a revit 2020 model. I can look at the project but cant do anything with it

What command are you trying to active by hitting the Enter key?

Is it only a problem with the upgraded file?

Does it happen in Revit 2018?

It looks like its only a problem with the upgraded file. I don't know if
its a problem for revit 2018 as i don't have that version downloaded onto
my computer on the latest 2020 version. My professor gave me the 2018 model
to work with and for everyone else in my class, it seems that they can
access the file perfectly fine.
