Filled Region Send to Back

Send to back has no effect on my filled regions. What is the point? Maybe
I am doing something wrong (likely).

Thanks again!

Send to back only works with 2D items. The model will always be displayed
"in back" of the 2D picture plane.

Ah Ha! How would one go about creating a tile pattern on the floor? Maybe
I am using the wrong tool.

To make a tile pattern, all you have to do is to add this pattern as a
surface material to the material you use for the floor cover.
For example if the floor's top layer is a ceramic tile, you go to
Settings->Materials, find the material you want to use and add the desired
pattern to where it says "Surface pattern". You can have a visibility
control through the viewport visibility options.

You can also use the Paint tool to add a material hatch pattern on any modeled surface. The Filled Region tool allows you to create a specific shape on a surface. Both the Paint and Filled Region tool can have their pattern aligned to any Ref. Plane in order to change the hatch patterns angle.

I need to add tile in a specific pattern on the floor so I guess I need to
use the filled region tool but, there goes my geometry. Maybe as a work
around I could create a thin veneered floor but then in my sections this
could cause problems.

Thanks!

Dear reviteers,
Just created a new type for Filled Region, called it "Transparent", set the Background to "transparent" and Fill Pattern to "to pattern" and.. it still covers whatever non-2d objects within the range of the Region. Why can't I just push it to the back? why o why??? any good reason for that one? or just another bug...
I love so many features of Revit. Why the hell it's so incomplete and illogical???

If you apply, or paint a Model hatch pattern on the floor, you'll be able to adjust/drag the pattern so that it will start or intersect at a given point

What do you do when you can see through a transparent region in all of your views except a few when they are in hidden line visual style, but you have to change the messed up ones to wireframe to see through the transparent region? you can tell the differences between the wireframe and hidden line dwgs when i print.

Any thoughts? Id like to have the same visual style on all dwgs/

How about adding fill pattern to Topography object? Surface patterns won't display for Topography. Now I am facing a practical problem of overlaying Filled Regions on top of the topography to get the desired design pattern. The problem is that this will show 'on top' of the geometry in higher elevations. Modelling soft terrain with slabs is something that I find strange and ugly as well. Revit does not give any sort of treatment to this quite common scenario, or at least I can't seem to find it. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still having this issue but I wanted to inform you of a problem I was having and how I fixed it. I had a problem moving filled regions that are transparent over a filled region that was opaque. so I set the filled regions that were transparent to opaque and override them to make them transparent then I could move them where I needed them.

All you have to do is select the filled region, click "Edit Type" and un-tick "masking"

Hello, if you are looking to send back the filled region of a 2D object like dwg file, just click on the dwg drawing and in the properties panel, there is an option of draw layer, change it to foreground. Hope it helps
