Files not appearing when inserting families

I am trying to insert a family in a project but the family is not appearing in the dialog when I use the 'Insert from File' command and drill down to the folder that contains the family I need.  If I use File Explorer it and many others, that do not appear in the Revit dialog, are all there!

Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening?

"Load Family" to load an rfa. "Insert from File" to insert rvt.

To make sure that the family has loaded, scroll toward the bottom of your Project Browser and look for Families. Expand Families. Once you find the family, then expand it and drag the 'child' into your project. Simple and painless.

It isn't going to be there if you cannot pick it in the first place.... Perhaps you had not seen my response to the first reply?

Do you see the RFA fie extension when you look at them via Windows File Explorer?  How about drag the file from File Explorer and drop it on you Revit window?
