Hello,
I have Revit 2018.1 installed with the latest update release installed, and the latest 2018_1_1 hot fix installed. I have been slowly upgrading all my past projects that I and other members of my office use for reference. I am having relatively good luck upgrading all models except one.... I keep getting the error "A serious error has occurred. The current action has been cancelled." and Revit just closes. the file is being upgraded from 2016 to 2018. I have purged and audited the central model before upgrading, also removing all linked files. Still no luck. The project in the past was able to be upgraded from 2014 to 2016.
any thoughts?
Thanks for the thought. I will try that. I would also like to try and find more permanent solution/source of the problem.
For one, my office skipped straight from 2016 to 2018, so I would have to download and install it from the subscription website (not all that big of a deal). I know it should have to be something embedded in the .rvt as I have upgraded several projects from 2014 < 2016 & 2016 < 2018 & 2014 < 2018 with no issues.
I did dive deeper and try and look at the journal files. I get a .dmp file each time it attempts to open it. The txt editor reveals only unrecognizable characters.
