files developed in Revit could not be saved or exported

Hallo everyone. I have use my student account downloaded and installed Revit 2020 on my Windows 10 PC few days ago and have realised that, it doesnt function properly as it supposed to.

After researching online for hours, i think the problem i am now facing have something to do with the viewer mode. I have then tried out the workaround and installed the viewer mode hotfix. Still, nothing works.

1, All projects created with a revit template could not be saved. The warning from revit is something like, because of the existing model in the file, the project could not be saved even when nothing is actually modelled. (I use german version and i am sorry that i dont know  its english correspondence)

2, All DWG exported from Revit takes up only 3kb place and could not be open in AutoCAD. The warning in Autocad given is, the file is read only or is being used by another user.

3, though viewer mode is my main suspect, it is not shown in the top bar as it should. So i am not that sure about that.

I hope that i am not the only one who has this trouble.

If you're a student you should be able to install the full version - not Viewer mode.  From what I remember, you cannot save changes made in Viewer mode.

After all this week, i have finally got the solution to the problem.

As i have mentioned before, i have already installed the viewer mode hot fix and the problem still exist.

So if you are 1, student, 2, running Revit 2020 and 3, file cant be saved using revit template after installing the hotfix.

the solution is, get the 2019.

if you are bilingual and your computer system has one language with special character(in my case, i have chinese, german and english) and you can not export any valid dwg file.

go to the system region setting, in language for unicode incompatible program, uncheck the "unicode UTF-8 for supported.....".
