When adding a storefront curtain wall I set my Vertical and Horizontal grid to "none" but it still divides the panels. Typically I set the layout to none and then manually add the grids to the curtain wall. I can't for the life of me figure out why its dividing the panels. The red circles in the pic show where the panel is being divided.

This should not be the case. When drawing a storefront curtain wall and then setting the vertical and horizontal layout to none Revit usually asks if you want to delete the gridlines. If you delete the girdlines there should be no divisions any more. Maybe you can upload your project with the relevant curtain wall included so that we can have a look?
Also consider to use the Curtain Wall type instead. This has no divisions to start with,maybe more suitable in your case. Also consider to create a different type according to your needs and then save it in your template so that you will have it ready from the start

Are you saying that you are modifying the Storefront TYPE on placement? "Vertical Grid" and "Vertical Mullions" are TYPE properties. Changing one, changes all. Use a pre-defined Storefront TYPE that has no Vertical Grids/Mullions.
...you didn't by any chance blow by this Warning without Deleting Grids?
