Extrustion bend parametric

Anonymous

Hi,

I am trying to create a family where in an extrusion there is a bend, that is depended on several parameters. The bend needs to move when I change the parameters A, AA, B, BB and R. If I understand correctly I first need the calculated the center point for the bend. So that is why I made X en Y parameters. But I don't know how to calculated X and Y, can someone help me with this or offer me a different solution?

If you draw the extrusion with all of the lines intersection at the reference plane intersections, it will automatically adjust.  I did a quick video on what I mean.

@Revit_Whisperer  I think he needs R to be an input parameter as well.

@Anonymous  I use Generic model adaptive.  It is Revit 2017 format.

EDIT: regular generic model works too.

Thx for the families and video's. But we're not quiet there yet. I need R to be a variable and not a reporting parameter.

The adaptive family(family2) from ToanDN is working as I need it to be. But there is a problem with the adaptive family, I can't make the category a mechanical equipment, what I need it to be. And Revit doesn't allow for an adaptive family to be nested in a mechanical equipment family.

@ToanDN the family1 you made, isn't totaly working. When I adjust parameter AA, the bend doesn't move.

@Anonymous , If the Family2 that ToanDN posted is working, then, simply reproduce that family in a mechanical equipment family, and please mark his post as the solution.

@Alfredo_Medina, I can't reproduce the family2 from ToanDN in a Mechanical Equipment family, because adaptive extrusion is not support in a mechanical euiqpment category.

By "reproduce" I mean : make again the same reference planes, parameters, etc, in a generic family, mechanical equipment category. I did not say load, but "reproduce", repeat.

@Alfredo_Medina, your solution is tried bij ToadDN, in family1, where the bend doesn't move with parameter AA. I Have the same problem. In family2 a form element is used, where apparently it will work. But a form element I can not load in mechanical equipment category family.

You keep saying that you cannot load Family2 into a mechanical equipment family.

You have already received 95% of the solution to your problem. Please do the remaining 5%, which is to reproduce the same geometry and parameters in a new family.

I just tested family 1 and it works as intended.  Try the attached file again.
