Extruding a roof with different slopes and thickness in both directions

HI i am modelling a slab which sits on two walls of varied height and sloping profile. I used the model in place tool to create those models and later changed them to walls using the face tool. 

 

Now comes the problem. I need to model the roof which sits on it and has variable thickness and slope on both the directions of the slab. I find it real difficult to use the extrusion tools to do this. I am attaching the 3d view and the elevation so that you guys can have the idea of the wall profile and what I'm trying to accomplish. Can you please suggest me how to tackle this problem.

why not using Roof by Footprint with Modify Sub Elements?

the steps:

  • on the top of those two walls , place Beams (Structural Framing family ) using the activated 3D Snaping
  • make a Roof by Footprint at the upper Level , without any slope ( a flat roof)
  • select the roof : Modify > Modify Sub Elements > Pick Supports - pick on the Beams placed on top of the walls . The roof will follow the beams ( the upper shape of the walls)
  • You can then refine  the roof modeling using Modify Sub Elements ( by Addiing Points or/and Add Split Lines) You can also use Variable Width if the Roof has more then one layer.......

I have few questions though.

 

The transition line for the roof at the lower face is different to that of the upper one. So basically I would create the roof footprint with the lower face plan and then add points in the upper face and adjust the transition line on the upper face. 

 

Please see the below image. The red boundary and the yellow boundary are the footprints of the roof slabs on the lower face. The blue hatch is the one which is on the upper face. Should I do the roof according to the lower face and add the split line? 

 

Also for the wall profile. I used extrusion tools to create those slopes on the top of walls. Is there an efficeitn way to do that. Like the 3D snapping tool. I was thinking to create levels. But since the walls are not in one plane I was doing using the extrusion tools. Can you suggest me on that please?
