Revit Architecture Installation failed

Dear AutoDesk team,

I've tried to install Revit 2015 on my computer but failed; it said that my computer can not support the program, I've got 1.60GHz and 8GB RAM, 64 bit and as far as I understood it is enough for educational purpose. Please advice, whether I can install and use the Revit Arch 2015 full version or if not can I use cut version instead, as I ordered the distance learning program already.

Thank you for your support!

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Here are the system requirements for Revit 2015. What operating system are you using?

Hi @Anonymous,

Here are a couple of things to try:

If you are still experiencing an issue after this, could you please provide a screenshot of the error message.

Hi Matthew,

I still have hard times with Revit installation.

it asks for 58GB of free disk space on hard drive volume C. (see attached screenshot).

to get this space on my computer I'll need to clean up everything - down to my emails and other essential programs.. Before i attempt to do that - does that soud right for you that it needs that much space?

I checked Autodesk help (http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-2EF1661C-5A8D-41AC-A28F-9678DDF545CA) and it actually says that I'd need only 5GB of free space to get Revit installed;

That aside, i tried to install Revit on other volumes of my hard drive (D, G) but irrespective of volume that i choose for installation it keeps asking for 58GB of free space at volume C..

Not sure what's going on and would appreciate if you could help to sort this out.

My online trainings were supposed to start alrady and I still can't get the software installed...

thanks

Iana

Hi @Anonymous,

58GB is definitely much larger then it should be. This is after you redownload from the virtual agent? Could you try running the Microsoft Fixit Tool and the CHKDSK (check disk)? To make sure you don't have any registry errors.

Hi Matthew,

I've tried the Microsoft Fix but it wouldn't run ( see screenshot).

Can you please provide me with the link where I can upload Revit Architecturel 2015 only. As I understood on the page http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/revit I downloaded the full version of Revit which I don't need and that's why it is so exacting.

Thanks a lot,

Hi @Anonymous

A standalone version of Revit Architecture is not available for students at the moment.

Going back to @matthew.d's question, does this still happen after you downloaded from the Virtual Agent?

About Microsoft Fixit not running, it seems like there may be a broader problem with your computer. My suggestions:

1-  Run a full system anti-virus and anti-malware scan

2 - Download Revit from the Virtual Agent, disable all firewall and anti-virus programs prior to starting the installation

3 - Ensure that you have full admin permissions before installing the program

Can you please try the above and let me know? Have you run CHKDSK as Matthew suggested?

Thank you,

Hi Camilo,

I've finally installed Revit Architectural through Virtual Agent after scaning my computer with anti-virus!

The only issue was that the product key that I have from my account would't suit (829G1)

and I chose the trial version for 30 days. Could you please advice me where I can take the right one if it's avaliable for student.

Thank you and Matthew for support!

Regards,

Iana

Dear Support team,

When I opening a new project dialogue I cannot find any templates in a template file (architectural.. etc). As a following problem I can't find and upload any component elements ( doors... etc) for this project.

I've attached screenshot of all existing files in Revit folder.

Hope you can help me to sort it out.

Thanks,

Iana
