Export reference points to DWG

I have some reference points in an adaptive family that are currently set to VISIBLE and they show up in the project model but when I export a 3D view they aren't being exported. HOWEVER... they appear in the DWG preview. (odd)

Is there a trick to exporting reference points or is it simply not possible? Currently running 2017.2.3 for this particular project.

Change them to Adaptive Points then they will show when exported.

Hmmmm... changing them to adaptive points completely blows up my adaptive family since it already contains adaptive points.

Make them Shape Handle instead of Placement Point.

Apparently I was logged in with a work account yesterday when I posted...  Anywho... Nope, still doesn't work. Completely fubar's the family. Just to clarify, I'm not creating it from scratch. It already exists. I'm just trying to get some existing ref points to show up (which they do in Revit) and export them to DWG (which they don't, but they show in the DWG preview thumbnail).

It's completely ignoring the reference points because it's not even creating the layer for it as defined in the DWG export options in Revit.

Those look like Nodes of the Divided surface. Are you sure they are reference points? Can you highlight one and show the Properties?

It's a nested family. Here's a short Screencast showing it
